The Irish Village presents Madness at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium for a one-off show on Thursday 5 March 2020

Anyone growing up in the UK and beyond and the 80s needs no introduction to Madness.

Bursting onto the scene in 1979 with One Step Beyond that reached number two in the UK Album Charts and included classics such as Night Boat to Cairo, My Girl, The Prince and the eponymous single, One Step Beyond

Having been recorded in 10 days, the album remained in the charts for over a year capitalising on the ska revival in the UK.

The next few years saw equal success with hit after hit keeping The Nutty Boys at the top of the charts. Madness had 15 singles reach the UK top ten including 80's Classics such as Baggy Trousers, It Must Be Love, Driving in My Car, Our House, Wings of a Dove and finally scored a UK number one single with the iconic House of Fun in 1982

Well known for their energetic live performances with enigmatic lead singer Suggs bossing the stage and a seven member line up with full brass section.

A night of singalong hits is guaranteed.

Support from Emily Capell is a singer songwriter and musician from North West London.

With a wide range of influences from Dolly Parton to The Clash, Emily has brought a new genre of country, ska, doo wopp and pop to the 2019 music scene.

Since starting out in 2010 Emily has released three EPs entitled ‘Who Killed Smiley Culture?, ‘Who Framed Winston Silcott?’ And ‘Who Stands With Latasha Harlins?”

Her much anticipated debut album ‘Combat Frock’ was released in October 2019.

As well as relentless touring, Emily has supported Texas on their 2017 world tour, Rhoda Dakar, Glen Matlock, The Blockheads, The Blinders, Roddy Radiation and Mari Wilson.

Building up a big following on the way Emily has played Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Reading and Lattitude festivals.
